Speaker Issues

I definitely would like an opinion on this...

I sold two SPL 15" Dual Voice Coil Subs on ebay. These subs left my house in known working condition.

The guy who bought them, states that they are blown and furthermore, the coils are melted. He claims all this without connecting these speaks, and simply pressed down on the cones to make his determination.

I am no audio guru, but is it possible to make such a determination without powering the speakers.

Any words of wisdom would be helpful!

Dont give him a refund. I had some speakers that looked like crap but they sounded fine.

The SPL 15's are serious subs, easily able to handle 1000 watts RMS. I had more than efficient power, but no where near that. I just having a hard time understanding that he can tell the coils are burnt without taking apart the speaker.

he is just trying to get money from you, tell him to send them back to you and when u confirm they are busted, then give him his money back, and make him pay for shipping.
