i know this thread is kinda old but.....
nin was the original, unless im mistaken. i dunno why johnny cash gets the credit for that song. i like the nin version better.

I just thought it was a more creative way to say "johnny cash is dead". I never gave credit to him for a better version.

And whoever said the song was about heroin abuse: What gave it away... "the needle tears a hole"...CAPTAIN NO **** TO THE RESCUE!
