I just talked to a shop that told me they can do a complete RB26DETT swap into my 95 240sx for only about $10000. I also got a quote from JE Import Performance for double that amount ($20000), can I trust this shop that is telling me they do a complete swap for $10000.
true true. But I guess including the motor/trans, mounts, modifying it to fit for FR, and labor $10,000 dosent seem too unreasonable.
But if you're a DIY kind of person like me, Airman Jackson, and most of the guys on here then you could always buy the motor and do all the work yourself. Besides its always more fun that way

I might be bringing this thread but from the dead, but just in case, I figured it out to be around 7,500 turnkey if i were to do it myself. That includes Pretty much everything, motor RB25 trans, Apexi Power FC, Mckinney mounts, DS, and downpipe, and a bunch of other misc. stuff. Its pretty expensive but its kinda worth it. But then again for 7,500 you could have a completely built Ka-T pushing like 400-500 hp and all you got is a stock RB26 pushing 300.
thats true but all you would need is a turbo upgrade and you could be making that kinda power with the RB. It all comes down to budget and what you are building the car for basically. If I had the green i would RB
yeah i have been toying with the idea of the LS because of the rareity, and how the torque would be so amazing, but i'm not sure if i would want to do that right now. I think i'm gonna build a bad *** KA-T first and then go from there. If I was crazy rich I would throw in the LS7 and call it a day.
the prices i've seen for the amount of hp i think ls1 would give you more bang for your buck. but any ls or lt engine would be nice to have.
but i'd rather have it in the car it came with. don't get me wrong i love my 240 but i'd love to have a muscle car too.

Hell yeah I'm with you on that. Im not wild about LS's in 240sx's but I wouldnt mind have the musclecar it came from. I love good american muscle cars.

wouldnt be a waste of money to me.
