RB20 hard to crank over

Ok here is my problem,
I just bought a S13 with a RB20det, the guy said he just had a clutch put in and the starter died on him after it got back home, well then 8 months later I buy the car thinking it should be an easy reconditioning with a new starter and new fluids,
well the new starter wouldn't turn the motor either, so I try by hand with a breaker bar on the crank pulley and it is extremely tough to turn, but it turns like its sticking or something,
after about 50 revolutions by hand I put the starter back on and try again but it only makes 1 turn then stops, if I nudge it by hand with the bar, it will turn 1 time again and stop at the same spot,

Well I think I got the spot where it stops out but its still extremely tight to turn, anyone have any suggestions or have had this problem?

ok I found the problem, the main thrust bearing was crushed between the block and the crank, I have pics but I haven't been to my computer in a month, in the process of getting married. but I had some new bearings installed from erics performance from ebay, took bottom end apart and extracted the damaged parts, had to grind the crank flat again, and installed the new bearings and re-assembled, everything turns great now, so just have to complete the motor and start it up,
