anyone else here autox much?

i was just curious if anyone else here autox's. i myself do, i run in sts class (the custom intake, coil overs, and slotted rotors place me in that class) and obviously i will be doing a lot more work to my car in the future, and may someday move up to the street prepared class. so if anyone else here does autox what class do you race in? and what mods do you have that place you in that class?

if its anything like my region was, you will be the only one with a 240, which is awesome. people are curious to see how it does. and its cool to be the only 240 at an event hahahaha.

restricting your self to one form of motorsports if you can help it.. is not a good thing.

i utilize both skills when doing them.

I just started Drifting and AutoX this year. I dont know what class I am in. When I went, it was being held by a Corvette club and they put me in the Non-corvette class. We were running numbers right up there with the corvettes. I cant remember exact numbers but I did better than the average corvette driver was doing.

I haven't participated since this 240 has been down but I was in DSP with the stock KA, shocks/springs and bars. I sucked but it was fun and very educational...and fun!!! I will be participating again though because I miss it.

Autocross would be fun if it provided more seat time . . . .

Yeah I know. I get like 6 runs per event and you dont get any practice runs. Its full out from the beginning. They let us run 2 runs at the end of the last event and we drifted through the course. They got mad at me cause I scared them. They thought I was out of control and was gonna hit someone. Haha.

Yeah, way off course . . . .

That was the last auto-x I did . . .way back in April, LOL! The lack of seat-time kept me out of Autocross ever since . . . .DRIFTING FOR LIFE!

LOL!

Well since there are Auto-X events here every weekend, I can go to them and drift some of the turns and keep my drifting skills honed in for events. Well since winter is here, I have to wait till april for my next drifting event. It kinda sucks.

its helped with my car control in a great way... my first drift event was... well somewhat of a failure. My second ever drift event was after being in Iraq for 8 months.

I did about 3-4 auto-x events prior to my 3rd drift event and BOY... was cool to see how much more control i gained.
