Yeah, but that's just because I'm coming up, about to lap you (quite possibly numerous times).

That'd be great to see you out there though, lol.

Yeah, a lot of people would be lapping to if they cut the chicanes each time, you see that black flag waiving every time you pass

Yeah, that's for you.

LOL!

Don't know yet, it's all going to depend on what I buy for my track car. We'll see, right now it's looking most likely that I'll be driving a 1986 Toyota Corolla Hatchback.

LOL, because my coworker is selling me his hatch for 800 bucks . . .

I made a rule when I started racing and I've lived up to it ever since . . . .never pay more than 1000 bucks for a car that's only going to be used for the track.

damn hey Stig this Auto-x Season is almost over and i missed so much cause of the accident but im gona start out fresh next year.

i got 1 question for you with my suspension set up and motor im gona be in the Modified Class which allows R compound tires. im buying a set of dedicated track rims+tires you think i should just do next season with performance street tires then go to R compound the season after that? since im having a new engine set up i just wana make sure i know my car like the back of my hand on the track b4 i go R compound or am i just being too careful?

Actually, I think going with R Compound or "Racing Slick" tires isn't that great of an idea . . .myself and my friend Kenny have noticed that cars that run with R Compounds are only a few tenths or maybe a second faster than those with street tires.

Why?

Because in order to use R Compounds effectively they have to warm up, that's why you see Formula cars and GT Class cars weaving from left to right rapidly during caution laps, to keep the tires warm.

Running R compounds in autocross doesn't make much sense because you don't get that opportunity to get the to full operational temperature there for you're running slick . . .cold . . .tires. Not very smart in my opinion. If you plan on running Club Racing or Time Attacks, then yes, I will attest that you should run R Compounds, however, you're going to be on the track anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 and a half minutes, no where NEAR the time required to warm up your tires and burnouts aren't allowed on the track nor is drifting.

Buy some really good Proxes or some nice BF Goodrich or Michelin tires and you'll notice that you're running much better times than someone with a smiliar setup in your class running R Compounds.

Its like Lexus says, just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you should.

Thanks bro, once I pick it up (probably with my next paycheck) I'll post some pictures up and make a new post to keep you guys updated as to how the build process goes.

I was browsing around the Club 4AG website and they seem a little drift-ricey for me and they aren't very SR5 friendly so I'm probably not going to join there just yet, not that I care what others think, I just don't need another forum and another headache.

Latah!

HAHAHAHAHA, wouldn't mind seeing that, I'm just going to either do a basic GTS swap or a 13b, depending on how funding looks after Christmas.

You should make your car the ultimate racing machine Stig! Though it is a coupe....

They still don't heat up quickly enough, look, I can't change your opinion or your mind on something, we've discussed this before, you're a grown mand and you have your own way of doing things, but unless you're doing Pro-Solo with a very large autocross course then your tires are still going to be well below operational temperature by the time you finish the course.

I still say save your money and buy some high performance radials, but as I said, you're going to do what you want to do, soooooo, I'll see you on the track
