first of all, you can't really expect someone to reply to your post in 2 minutes. Next, you should put pics of the rust up so we can determine. "A lot" to you might not be "a lot" to somebody else. Also getting rid of rust is usually a cut-and-weld kind of job. Also there are a lot more things to worry about than just rust in a 16-year-old car. I would get it checked out by someone that can tell you what your in for. welcome to Club240

wow that is alot of rust. I don't think I would pay $1500 for something like that.
If you really want the car perhaps you can talk him down. Also check for rust near the brake m/c, it tends to leak and leave a sweet hole on the firewall/shock tower.

I wouldn't pay more than a few hundred dollars for that. it is in terrible condition.

do not buy it.
Those strut towers are gonna pop off.
But aside from that it has just about everything going for it.
It has VLSD, 5 speed, and if by "good condition for its age"
you mean engine and interior, just buy that and put everything into a shell.
500 bucks tops.
And next time use the "enter" button on your keyboard when posting pictures
so that I do not have to use the "enter" button
when replying to your post
and so that others can read by scrolling down and not across.
