What are you looking to dow ith the car? What kind of motorsports, DD(daily driving?)?

For drag racing, the RB25 will be the best choice. SR20 is a good overall engine. If i had the money id probably go for the RB25.

again, this type of question (should i get engine A or engine B?), presented in this matter is extremely vague. specifics, man. it's all about the specifics:

- what do u wanna do w/the car (motorsports, show, what)?
**if motorsports, what kind and will weight balance be a factor?
- what does ur budget look like?
- how much downtime can u afford?
- doing it urself, or taking it to a shop?
- concerned about stock parts avaliability?
- what about aftermarket?
- does it need to be smog legal (methinks fmax or somebody makes a CARB legal turbo kit for the KA)?
- which one do u just plain LIKE?

ask a better question, get a better answer.

no prob. if ur not going for the hardcore track setup, this should suit ur needs:

brakes
- good solid (non-slotted, non-drilled) rotors (think Brembo)
- dot 5 brake fluid
- SS braided brake lines
- good brake pads (Axxis comes to mind)

suspension
- good shock/spring combo (search for recommendations)
- upgraded sway bars
- strut tower braces (front and rear)

drivetrain
- some form of LSD (VLSD, clutch type, helical, etc)

as for power, again, that depends on preference, budget, knowledge, etc. u can do an N/A buildup, turbo the stock motor, or go for a swap. my best advice is to thoroughly research each option and see which is the most viable for ur situation.

as far as beginning/occasional drift sessions, what u have right now is good enough (if it's running, that is). that's right, stock. bone stock.

oh, and seriously, consider searching more. look what i pulled up using "pass AND smog" in the query:

while a lot of flaming doesn't go on here, members do get tired of repetitive, easily researched questions.

Ok, all we ask is that you try and search before you ask a question.
