N00b from the land of the red dirt

hello to all from oklahoma! stumbled upon to this site on accident
trying to explain to a 350z owner what the different front ends are(s13)
im a member on our local forums NISMOKC.com,some local drift forums, and NICO.
-theres my intro-pull up a chair this could be a lonng post...
in september i stupidly traded my modded out 97 civic coupe for a 240 hatch with an sr swap. stupid because the engine blew 2 days later.

http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...b32c5e533c.jpg
i felt like an idiot since i didnt really know anything about 240s at the time. fell in love those 2 days though ha. in the mean time of attempting to replace the engine(didnt work out because a sh***y Canadian importer basically screwed me over) i bought a $300 FULL 93 super hicas parts car hoping it would come in handy and it served its purpose.
http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...05e64912bf.jpg
then after almost giving up hope a friend of a friend sold me a stock '90 hatch
for $1000 and thats when the real work/love began. it had a rusted out red hatch and had 220k+miles.
http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...93357ff21e.jpg
replaced the rusted out exhaust(missing literally a foot of piping)
got 2.5" straight pipe from the headers back to the 2.5" inlet muffler
http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...8eebdad8b3.jpg
i replaced the hatch with a white se hatch from the parts car and got front/rear strut bars
http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...9fb273173e.jpg
then i got tein stechs on kyb agx's to lower it and improve the ride
http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...e920ad0237.jpg
then i got some new rotors, tie rods, adjustable tension rods, fog-lights(because my stock lights suck when no street lights are around) and stole the wheels of my old sr car
http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...48cc9f58ea.jpg
i swapped in a rebuilt KAde and got an exedy clutch
then i got some coilovers(this was with them bottomed out haha)
http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...31f101885d.jpg
its raised up level now-and i have new wheels(on backorder), toe rods, & RUCAs on the way!

wow, your "parts car" is beautiful lmao I would have bought it to fix it lol, and usually I don't go for two tone hatchs, but yours pulls it off really nicely, I also like your green wheels haha +1 for being different.

toe rods or traction rods??
which do i need/want to get rid of this camber??!

Biggamehit 03-13-2010 10:02 AM

Tp adjust camber in the rear you need a set of Rear upper control arms.

here are a pictures of a few.

looking at your pictures.. you need to raise your car up.. its not suppose to be slammed over the wheels like that. Rasing it up about an 1/ 2 inch to an full inch will put you right at the top of the wheel and reduce some of your camber you currently have.

Negative Camber is not a bad thing and allows wheel fitment to be better along with control.

If you plan to continue any sort of motorsports ( outside of drag ) you will want to have some camber as it allows more utilization of the wheels depending on how you camber it. Your wheels are also not the best offset that they could be. You could fix that with a pair of bolt on spacers of about 15mm.

1SXY240 03-14-2010 05:45 PM

USMCDrifter 03-14-2010 08:11 PM

about the spacers do u mean in the front or the back??
i didnt think the offsets would matter much with proper alignment
