Talking New guy from Iowa.

Hey guys I thought i would stop in and introduce myself. I live in Ames, Iowa and drive a 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 with bolt on mods. The best time i ran ive ran in it was a 13.5@105 mph on street tires a year or so ago. My only question right now is im looking to buy a s13 some time next spring. And since everything up here that old is a rusted POS. I was thinking about buying one from texas. Do you think most s13s that had spent there whole lifes in texas would have any frame rail rust. If any one could give me an honest answer that would be great. Thanks.

Welcome! And I would guess the ones closer to the beach area would have more rust than the one's more inland, but good luck with the search!

any state that doesn't have constant wet weather and snow would be good.

it really doesn't matter where you buy your car from. used car dealers will travel across several states to buy cars cheap and sell them for a profit. you never really know what you're getting into until it's too late, all you can really do is look it over a few times and hope it makes it home.

True dat...I bought mine from Minnesota and it was rust free! It was garaged and in great shape when I came to get it. If it sounds legit, then check it out. Mine ended up being an amazing deal.

+1 to this, and yes a car from almost any state can have rust on it, jsut make sure you thoroughly inspect the under-body of any car you are buying.
