Well I just registered today because I recently bought a 1989 Nissan 240SX. (I will be posting pictures when I get a chance to take them) I got the car for $500. It doesn't have a radiator or a battery and it has 200K+ miles on it. My plans are to swap an SR20DET (Black or Red top) and I haven't decided if I am going to keep it automatic or do a swap to a 5 speed. I don't really have any questions about it because I found a lot of info online about these swap and they seem pretty common. One question I do have is what is an average price for an SR20DET. I found one online that came with the complete motorset and transmission for $2300. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

the 5-speed is really easy to do if you do it at the same time you do your motor swap.
Thats just about how much i spent on my old sr20 blacktop and it was perfect but when buying an engine set keep this in mind, you get what you pay for.

How complete? Everyone has different ideas of what a complete motorset is. It should include the following to be truley complete:
Long block w/ all accesories, sensors, turbo etc
Transmission and clutch
Intercooler and piping
MAF
Ignitor
ECU
Lower and upper engine harness uncut
Intake pipe (most are gone or ripped)
And if you are lucky....radiator since its different
If it includes all of that (maybe less the radiator), and its from a reputable source, than the price is not bad. You also want to verify the shipping charge since that can be costly. If you live in an area that has shops that carry the engine, you may want to consider buying locally.

i just bought a 91 5 speed fastback for 300 bucks, good body and everything but it wont start... cranks and tries to turn over but no spark, it almost seems like a fuel delivery problem or no signal from ecu to fire... anyways it has gude cams and an injen cai, and street clutch... what a steal!! any ideas on what problem can be? or what to check for first? plans to do a ka-t, already have a spare motor and trans ready for parts, just want to concentrate on getting it running first...i hope this pic shows up
