I am going to be selling my 2.5rs and getting a 240. I will have around 12000 to spend on a 240. I have some questions about the car. First, Does a 93 hatch w/ 80k go for around 3800, or could i find a cheaper one? Do they come w/ lsd (how do i tell?) or do i have to buy lsd? Is a sr20 ok for daily driver in CA, and where should i buy/swap it? I might have some other questions later, but thats i'll i need to know for now. Thanks for your help

I'm feeling newbie friendly so I will answer your questions, but for the future please search! thanks

1)In cali...you will notice that 240's are very high priced(compared to other states). IMO, that is a little to much money. You could find a cheaper one for sure, but it probably wont be in that great condition(compared to the 80k one, I think it would be in great shape)
2)The ONLY 89-93 240's that had a LSD stock were the Super HICA's equppied cars. You will know your looking at one because it has a super HICAS sticker on the side(you won't miss it). You will have to buy one most likely
3)Yes it is...but remember it is an illegal engine and there is a chance you can get caught with it. There are many places in so cal you can get the swap done...please search for that.

danggggggggg 12g's and you want a 93??? haha thats groovy, anyhow in cali you can find a very much cheaper one, ive seen some 93 hatches go for about 1200, just gotta look around

as for the sr20, its perfectly fit as a daily driver, heck in japan its a daily driver, so why not? but liky hyjnx said, its incredibly illegal, defintly in Cali, man if your busted, say good bye to your car, so it you want to aviod that, you could always go turbo, but its all up to preference, oh yea!! almost forgot

If I had $12,000, I'd buy like a '91 240 for like $2000 and then use the rest to swap me in an RB25

check www.autotrader.com and look for private sellers with a 93 fastback...shouldnt be that hard.

Is the s14 sr20 make more power than a s13? I want to do my swap at autolink in LA, and the s14 is more expensive. I was just wondering why it was. btw, Thanks for the welcome.

the s14 engine has variable valve timing, and about 30 or so more HP. it's also more expensive because usually s14 sr20det's have less mileage on them compared to s13 sr20dets.

Get a Ka with a turbo. But with 12k i would think about going Rb.
