s13 just a drift car?
hi, i was was wondering if 240 was a good handling car ,or if they were used only for drifting.how balanced is the car.cause i wanted to get in autoX and maybe a 240 would not be a good car for that. any help would be great thanks.

For auto-x a 240 would be great. They handle really good but would handle only better with susp. mods. Search around on this site for more info.

yeah i hear the s13 handle like boats stock.also it seems like all the major brands in suspension make only drift setups . ive noticed tein only makes a super drift damper but no super racing or super street ones for a 240?
|
they have more than just the super drift, check out here
There are so many other coilover manufactuers out there that make so many models for 240's. Whoever says they are strictly a drift car is an idiot, if someone told you that, smack them twice across the face and give them a kick to the nuts for me. As for handling like a boat stock, Cadillacs handle like boats, 240's handle pretty good when in stock form |
If you're purely building a car for autoX, I hate to say it but 240's aren't the best choice.
But if you want something all-around fun to drive, 240's are pretty good for the money. Welcome, BTW. |
thanks for the welcome.yeah i wasnt just thinkin about straight up auto X i was more all around use but it would be kool to take it to the track

Guys have you gripped with your cars? They are perfectly fine. Yes in our autox class we are not the best equipped when there are ITRs out there but damn it is not impossible.
Peter D. from NYC was able to post second in his class last year in autox points under a ITR. Jeez dudes. "Drift" setups are marketing. Coilovers are coilovers. You are the driver. You control the car. You decide the line. I will be concentrating on HPDE in the coming year as well as AutoX. Yeah I can drift when I want to. Car control and technique is where it is at :D |
what is HPDE?

I believe High Performance Driving Event held by NASA

They do have a karting course in the parking lot that is paved and has concrete turn sections. Think fun in different traction surfaces at speed :) If you are interested in autox in the NY/PA/NJ area try www.autox4u.com If you don't want to go alone hit me on aim and I will hook you up with some of our guys so you can get some pointers. If all goes well my s14 will be at events 5 speed and suspensioned up by spring of 2006. It is hard with 2 kids, mort and car payments :D |
