wuts up folks

ok,

New to the forum, and I'm 14. I have been looking in the ads for a 240sx and find them SR20DET equipped for like 1k. It might be trachsed but after doing my dad's jeeps breaks the other day I'm hooked on cars. I've been into the 1/10th gas poweredtrucks and I LOOOOVe that and the 240s are cheap. But for 1k would the car be in decent enough condition to druivwe me 2 miles to school and back every day for a little while? I really don't know but what are the common issuesd with them, that I might find myself getting into. I'm definately not car illiterate. So any tips on the first thing to change/swap and common issues w/ worn cars.

1k for SR'ed 240? wow where'd you find that at? lol
Don't mean to rain on your parade, but that's highly unlikely for a 240 to be that cheap with an sr. Twin Turbo on your sr too DAMNNNNNNN that's mad power yo! lol

its SR20DET, no TT, and chances of you finding a 240 with an SR for $1,000 are slim to none, unless either the car or the engine are damaged.

welcome to the forums by the way

240's are not cheap.. unless the are undriveable.

And they will no longer be cheap after that 3 Fast 3 Furious (or whatever) movie comes out.

And hun, by the way, 240s come with the KA24DE, not a SR20DET. The SR is the turbo and the 240s don't come with them unless the previous owner swapped engines.

don't forget about the Single Overhead Cam KA24E, which would be in the 1990 that he posted

1k for an SR 240? Highly unlikely... I just paid that same $ for my 240, and it came with an intake that i just found out is not working as well anymore, and the flywheel is shot and the corner lights are out. If it is true, then I'd take a good look at that SR, there might be something really wrong with it....

there's no way they are running.good condition 240sx w/ sr20deT's for $1000, that would be an incredible deal.

A little front end damage? Have you checked out the car in person? How do you know that it's "little?" How do you know if it doesn't have a bent frame? Look for rust spots (ie: trunk/hatch-lift the carpet and look where the spare tire is) all over the car. The $1500 one seems to be a normal price, but still check the car out in person before making a purchase.
1989-1990 = SOHC 140hp
1991-1998 = DOHC 155hp
search some of these words:
ka24e
ka24de
s13
s14
dohc
sohc
obd1 or obdI
obd2 or obdII
sr20de
sr20det
coupe
fastback
do some more searching and reading
