1990 s13 240sx Hatchback FS $2000 OBO Maryland
NEW PRICE $1700 OBO
Up for sale is my 1990 240sx S13 Hatchback (5spd SOHC). I got her back in '04 with about 152,000 miles on it. I have since put on 30k miles and its sitting at just under 182,000.
When I got the car, it had the timing rattle so I got a whole new timing set and had the head rebuilt. A few months later (Spring 05) my car started having this knocking/tapping sound(youll hear it in the video) its most likely a valve tap(probably from a mistake made by the machine shop who replaced some valves). Its been making that sound since and has never gotten worse or caused any problems with the car.
Also, the car was red at one point, but I primered it and then put a cheap black top coat on it. It looks OK but could use a good paint job.
Car starts up and will run and go wherever you want no problems. It does run rich and gets maybe 20MPG if you are lucky but thats a SOHC for you. Now onto what it has...
Good:
-No major body damage, just your usual door dings (front lip is split a little on one side but no big deal)
-Interior all intact and everything works (there is a crack on dash)
-Fresh tires as of this year (Falken ZX512 215 60 all around on stock 91 SE alloys)
-J30 VLSD + 5 bolt axles installed last summer.
-Transmission works great with new clutch/slave installed last summer
-Bendix brake pads all around installed last August
-Wicked Tuning Tension rods and Inner + Outer Tie rods installed this year + all wheel alignment/balance.
-Engine has all emissions removed/plugged (only vacuum for FPR and Brake booster)
-Altima elctric fans (one runs with ignition on low and the other has a thermostat that kicks in when you want. NEVER overheats or gets anywhere above normal temps)
-Unorthodox Crank pulley
-OBX racing header going to a Megan Racing 2.5" resonating test pipe followed by a made by BRM 2.5" cat back that has a Magnaflow resonator and muffler.
BAD:
-As stated above, the engine taps, but its been doing that for 3 years and hasnt affected anything or changed since.
-The lower radiator support is bent in and as such the hood latch isnt at the right height so there is a small gap between bumper and hood BUT it latches fine and opens fine AND you get a radiator core support with the car that just needs to be welded on. CAR DRIVES STRAIGHT
-car was BROKEN INTO last month and they busted up my driver side handle and lock. I replaced the cylinder and it all works good but its not the prettiest. (pics of that too)
-ummm OH the reverse lights dont work, but thats easy fix cause I saw that the wires from the transmission got cut somehow.
-Cruise control never worked so I removed the throttle linkage
-ALL A/C removed
-Car came with KYB GR2 and stock springs and I havn't touched them so they got some miles on them BUT arent blown
-Front Right Strut mount is bad but I have replacements from another car.
*BONUSES*
-I have separate a COMPLETE SOHC motor from an Automatic car that had around 103k miles
-There is a replacement radiator core support
-I have a full Energy Suspension bushing kit that has never been out of the box
-BRAND NEW Magnaflow 2.5" high-flow catalytic converter that will bolt right up
