My S13 1990 Nissan 240SX HB KA24E Automatic transmission recently caught fire in the engine bay. I just started getting into working on cars but my mechanic says all that needs replacing is the transmission wiring harness. So far no luck because it's automatic which is rare. Definitely looking to eventually swap out the engine as well as tranny for a manual but i don't have all the funds to do it right now. Just trying to get it back on the road. Any advice??

do the 5 speed swap now.
