Air Surge Tank

Wat is tha purpose of a Air Surge tank. And Do u need it? Cause I've seen SR20 Redtops dont have it but tha SR20 Black Top does. Y?:dunno:

Yea, I've searched for info on it, but I cant find out wat it does. And wat gets me is that its on some RedTops but not all and All Blacktops. Weird.
