apexi n1 questions
i recently asked what exhaust system was recomended for my 91 240sx, and the apexi n1 was the most recomended by far. but i dont know much about anything on cars, all i know is what i want my car to look and sound like. so i was wondering if anyone had a sound sample of the n1, or where i could find one. thanks

Thats by far the most common exhaust. If you want a bolt on that you know will sound good, go for it. With regards to a sound file, I haven't seen/heard one to download. It is a good exhaust though.

zilvia.net might have one...not sure

hey, thanks alot. i think im gunna go with the n1:D
|
not to ask unnecessary questions, but are you turbo'ed, do you plan on going turbo?
|
no, im not turbo'd yet, and i dont think i plan too. i dont have much money, and i have gotten way too many speeding tickets already, so i think im just gunna keep stock under the hood :(. duz that make a difference with the n1? or any exhaust for that matter, cuz i dont know much about this stuff.. kinda a learn as i go project car with me :S.

Define "does that make a difference". adding an ehxaust does not mess with the engine, only allows more air to flow which will add a few hp and torque. If you don't have too much money, ever look into getting like a magnaflow exhaust and getting a muffler shop to make it into a catback? Thats what I did and paid for a mandrel bent 2.25" piping w/ magnaflow exhaust installed for $240, whereas the N1 is over $500. And I've had nothing but compliments about my exhaust. Just a thought.
As well, if you don't want to mod the engine for a little more power, why add an exhaust? Just curious as to your reason. Dr. |
my HKS Hiper is on the way...i'll see what i can do about putting up a sound file for that.
|
well, first off, i like the look of 2,5" exhaust a hellova lot more than stock. and i like the sound, that was the main thing for me, the sound. i want a deep. bassy, throaty sound. and the n1 was recomended. so thats what i thought id get. like i said, i dont know much about this stuff. but the idea of a magnaflow, then turn it into a cat-back sounds liek a really good idea. so that is a possability. thnx. o, and btw, a lil more power from exhaust isnt bad, i just dont want to go and spend alot of extra money to put a turbo in my car, when i dont really want or need it.

o, just another question for the dr. what magnaflow exhaust is the best for that kinda thing? cuz i looked at their site, but i dont really know enough about anything to know which exhaust is the best:dunno:

I just ordered a Megan Catback Exhaust from www.optionimports.com. It's a 3" pipe w/silencer, as far as I've read from this site and others. The quality of this exhaust is pretty decent. It seems like a great bang for the buck: $329 shipping included. I'll see if I can post pics/soundclips if anyone's interested.

Well, the Apexi N1 won't resonate like a homemade exhaust would. I'd also trust the craftsmanship to hold up a bit better. I've never seen an Apexi N1 sell for $500, not even for a Supra. Realistically, market value is $400-$450 for a 240. Depends on where you look.
Being the JDM whore I am, I'd buy something that says JASMA on it. |
N1 single for the 240 is sold as a single piece. Shipping this very long box can easily add $50 - $100 to the total cost of the system.
