I know for a fact that the s2000 arc airbox makes actually loses power. In the s2k the location of the arc airbox was right behind the radiator, so all the air that goes into the box gets heated up from the radiator. I'm unsure of how these boxes are for 240's, but for s2k's it's just a piece of bling that loses power. Haha, I probably didn't help because it applies to another car but I hope you catch my drift. Depending on where this box's location is, the air that enters can be very hot.

you can achieve the same thing by making a few small holes on the bottom part of your stock filter housing.

240driftfiend 07-08-2007 09:51 PM

how big should the holes be?

it depends what you're going for. if you can't it to sound "cool", make a lot of 1/2" or so holes. if you want to reduce the air restriction make one ore two really big holes.

240driftfiend 07-08-2007 10:16 PM

and water or anything wont get in it?

jramosthe1st! 07-08-2007 10:20 PM

as long as you don't drive through puddles you'll be fine. if it's a small mist or sprinkle odds are it won't get sucked in.

ebay intakes are cheap as hell now that the 240 has gotten so popular. do like many of us and grab one of their pipes and slap a better filter on.

an off topic note: my rsx buddy has an arc intake, it sure is pretty but i dont know if it actually does much more than a standard short ram.

jramosthe1st! 07-08-2007 10:24 PM

even better buy the egay, i mean ebay intake hack it in half relocate your battery and slap a k&n filter on, just look at my sig.

is relocating the battery hard?

jramosthe1st! 07-09-2007 11:25 AM

not at all i moved mine to the other side of the engine bay and ran longer wires to it in front of the rad so they wouldn't be seen.

240driftfiend 07-09-2007 01:04 PM

what about moving it to the hatch...by the way im asking all this for a friend...im without a 240 for a while...if u guys heard wat happend to me u kno why lol..but if u dont here http://www.club240.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39877 ......didnt get my money back either

jramosthe1st! 07-09-2007 05:51 PM

moving it to the trunk serves another purpose that i had no need for. it also requires more wire and other things such as more time and an enclosure to put the battery in.

this is a forum and we are here to help each other but it seems like your wanting to to be spoon fed. theres write ups all around. relocating the battery is not hard.
