How good do you think these coilovers would be?

they are aerospeed coilovers

Import Fanatix 08-02-2002 05:57 AM

Those are definitely no good. They bounce a lot and not really for performance. They are only for looks.

altima/240sx 08-02-2002 09:00 AM

thanks...i think i may go with dropzone a.k.a sprint. I have them on the alty, and they ride pretty nice.

rudeboy 08-04-2002 10:09 PM

i agree

stay away from all that "high rev tuners" sh*t. stick with the offical. ONE

StanBo 08-09-2002 11:21 AM

GC or Tein. Do it once and do it right.

My teins are actually riding pretty nice now that they are broken in. I actually want to turn up the dampening for daily driving.

rbboyl 08-13-2002 06:04 AM

oops, i forgot about this thread and started a new thread about coilovers in suspension mods forum. But yeah, what about the OBX ones? They're sold right next to the aerospeed ones, just slightly more expensive, on ebay. They only for looks too?

StanBo 08-13-2002 05:09 PM

Looks are one thing. If you don't want to drive the car but to shows and back, then I say go for them.

But if you want to be able to drive the car around then you will have to think about quality. The longer you drive on them the more the springs will take abuse.

Do they tell you who supplies their springs? Or do they make them themselves?

world sports are ok....but the higher up ones are alot better. jic magic are good, and so are teins...ground controls, drop zone, arospeed, and obx are show car coilovers.

I would have to agree with most of that post except for the grouping of Ground Control coil overs with drop zone, arospeed and obx.

GCs are used by way more racers than any of the other companies. I know way more autoXers running GCs than any of the other companies.

I don't work for GC I have purchased products from them and they are a stand up shop. They know what they are doing. I purchased a GC kit for my Civic to prep it for AutoX after I performed a swap. They knew what kit to send me for pre and post swap (spring rate difference).

I could not see getting that kind of service from drop zone, arospeed or obx(maybe). Plus they inform you of what manufacturer's parts they use. That way you can change spring rates yourself by part number in the future if you feel.

GC is good in my book. :D

the reason why ground controls are pretty decent over here is because the other companies that are now invading the states with suspensions haven't really marketed their stuff in the US. ground control is about the least show car of the other 3, but compared to the other ones and adding to the ones i listed, zeal funtion and HKS Hiper are also better than the GC's. I give GC some credit though, they made a custom kit for my former car(90-92 Nissan Stanza) when no one else would. the price was pretty hefty, but i've learned that they were actually pretty cheap when you get into buying some real coilovers.
