excuse me for being uneducated with the engine and all, but would a 92 cold air intake system work for my 91? I was planning on ordering one off of ebay or maybe going down to some autoshop out in duarte

Hey, fist, I was going to let you know that you might want to invest in a air intake extension if you can. The reason your not getting much more power is probably because the intake is not far enough away from you engine to collect the cold air. All it's doing is ramming hot air into your engine. If you have an Injen IS ram air intake you can purchase an EIS intake extension. I think you could esily see 5-10 HP from this. Also if you go to www.injen.com they give a dyno test on a 95-96 Nissan 240SX as well as many other makes and models. They did two pulls with the stock 240. Than did one with an Injen CAI. According to their numbers they gained 13.9 HP and 12.9 foot lbs. of torque at the wheels. Those are pretty impressive numbers.

IMHO, the cold-air intake is a great mod. More throttle response, impressive HP & TQ increases (usually across the dyno), and when on full throttle, wow. The 240 already has a nice grunt, but an intakes' sound really shines on full throttle. And it can spruce up the under-hood appearance, if you're into that kinda stuff. So yeah, it's worth it! Just remember, if you get the cold-air extension, you may need to clean/change the filter more often given it's location.
