custom cat-back exhaust???
Ive been looking at exhaust systems and they are all soo expensive. I dont feel like spending 600 some dollars on an exhaust system. I called down to a shop near my house and he said everything installed would be 200 bucks. Thats if I bring him the muffler. Is buying one of those 600 cat-back systems worth it, or is going with a custom one a better alternative?

Having a custom one is a nice alternative, but I don't think it's the best. You gotta remember those catback exhausts are that expensive because of all tyhe research and development that went into it. You know you're getting something good. Look at RSR and all the work they put into thier mufflers. One of them is even stock looking and uber-quite, but still performs. I don't see any custom shops doing that. However, if you'relow on cash and just want quick power, a custom setup is a nice alternative. Just be sure they do a good job and only mendrel bent piping.

i had a custom set up on my car b4 i got my GT....the difference between the 2 was that even though the GT was much bigger...the custom set up was much more heavier....
the GT has a much lower growl and louder...
the custom was a lil less aggresive, but it had more of a boxer motor sound to it....
my custom set up was 3" cat back with a magnaflo resonator and a Apexi N1 muffler
plus...even though my exhaust guy does awesome work....its nowhere near the quality of my apexi GT
he's antony from antony's muffler....hes the guy that duz ALL the work for a company called SPUGEN. its an S2000 thing
its pretty well known...and their exhaust are one of the few that really DO make power on an s2000
