Do you realy need the EGR tube?

I just intsalled headers that sorta fit and I need to know if I can get rid of the two ports on my headers other than the O2 sensor. I'm trying to keep my car street legal but it has another year till inspection so I have time to fix it. What I do know is that one port is the O2 sensor and the other goes to the EGR tube but I don't know what the one that goes through a whole lot of tubing and plastic boxes and somehow ends at the air filter is. Can someone tell me what that one is and wether the ERG pipe is more important to connect and what will happen if they are disconected.

well egr just puts back exhaust gas back into the chamber
you can get it block off for it and plug up the hole on ur header

the plastic box can b taken off its a aiv system it puts hair in the exhaust you can take out that hole system and plug everything up

o2 sensor has to stay

as for smog you need the egr cause it reduces nox
aiv doesnt do any thing its a mistake
but its a visual thing and it has to be functional

so if you take off any of these parts your gona have to put it back on for your inspection.
