i'm a new kid on the block. my muffler and my mid pipe are rusted out pretty bad. i'm looking for something that will last me for about 2 years. what do you folks recommend?

motegineon 07-15-2005 11:57 PM

Not trying to be an ass...but search, theres hundreds of threads on exhausts and nething decent is going to last u 2 years..

HKS/Apex'i/Blitz/Borla/MagnaFlow. You have a SH!T Load of options.

2.5in if ur running N/A
3in if ur one of us turbo losers.

Sieji 07-17-2005 01:33 AM

2.5" for N/A builds huh.... thx. Was thinkin about back-pressure loss in headers and junk like that for the 3 inchers. Least I got a second, saying the same.

what is N/A.. ive noticed it a lot lately and i dont know what it means

Justin.b 07-17-2005 08:54 AM

I know that 3" is not optimally sized for a street n/a KA, but the prices on the Megan Racing / SSautochrome system make it hard to pass on.

$275 for a cat back is cheaper than I can have a local shop mount a Magnaflow.

N/A means naturally aspirated (no turbo, supercharger, or nitrous)

FI means forced induction (one of the above things)

that pipe is so@strait...

The quality is good.... really good.

I have the megan racing downpipe for my SR and the test pipe. Welds are clean on both pieces and they use thick flanges and fit where they're supposed to... which is really all you can ask.

My initial impression is that the stuff is of higher quality than my Apexi N1 dual which cost significantly more. Did you notice the dual system they're selling?

The exhaust alone is $275 all stainless. The more expensive setup does include everything from the motor back (minus the turbo).
