Need Help can't get my engine to start
 

Ok so I bought a 1990 Nissan 240SX with the stock KA for $500 dollars and I was told it did not start well I replaced the battery, spark plugs, rotor, distributer cap, and the timing wires. That got it started and i drove it to my house but now it wont start again. Someone told me that it cold be that my engine is not getting enough fuel and it could be the gas pressure regulator. Well i changed that and still no change. I even tried spraying it with starting fluid. I was just wondering what suggestions any of you have it would be appreciated thanks.

It's not the starter, the starter is turning over.

Fuel Pump?

No mechanic here... just a guess

if the starter works but the engine wont fire, hit the starter solenoid with something hard, if it starts after that, your solenoid is bad. replace your starter

also check your connection to the battery. i had a similar problem and it turned out that the terminal was loose on the battery

i would say cheack and make sure you getting fuel all the way through the system and if you are then double check battery terminals tight i had the problem with a 1995 honda civic i had. i rebuilt the motro and it would start spent 3 weeks fittling with it and it was a loose battery connection OUCH lol.

thats i could sugest if not that than i would call a mechanic in your area

Before you buy more parts you should actually try to find the problem. See if its getting fuel and spark. Then go from there. Try running codes.

id definatley check for spark and fuel

you need 3 things to start...

fuel spark and compression

its cranks so you got compression. remove the plugs and crank it. see if you get fuel vapor blowing out of all 4 plug holes in firing order. if its good there, check the ignition coil

Just a hunch, take the cap off and check that the distributor is still on correctly.

Change your fuel filter, probably needs a new one anyways, when was the last time that guy drove it before you bought it?

getting gas? If no, check your fuel pump relay.
Proper timing? Roll the engine over to tdc (take #1 plug out, turn motor until you feel compression). It should point near #1 on the cap
Getting spark? Take the coil wire off and hold it 1 inch from it and see if it jumps or check the ignitor for reference.
Hows your alternator? Can you jump the car and make it run? Check the voltage before and while it's running and see what you get. Before crank up it should be between 12.2v-12.6v. While running a healthy alternator will put out 13v~
