price for Struts~!!!

Hey I was planning on getting strut bars for my 240. I read in the forums that the ebay ones will work about the same as the name brand ones. However, I found a stillen front strut and GAB rear strut for $110. I am not too good with prices. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is a decent price to pay for these products. Oh also the strut bars are used.

your research wasn't correct. The ebay struts bars are smaller and are adjustable, whereas the Cusco strut bars for s13's fit like a GLOVE, and are very very strong. That being said, I still purchased the ebay strut bars, because I couldn't justify $200 for the Cusco one's. They are better than nothing, but nowhere near Cusco's or the other name brands.

I've never heard of GAB, but stillien is decent. Make sure they are for our car and not adjustable. you want them sliding in like a glove without adjustment.

That's not a bad deal I think.

I bought my set of Megan Racing bars on eBay for about $80 bucks shipped... Considering MR isn't really close to a name brand at this moment, and their bars look not much different from those no-name ones.

To Dr., do you happen to know how good (or bad) is MR bars compare to those of name brands? They're my first set of bars so I've nothing to compare to. I bought them 'coz I can't justify other high prices either. Thanks.

I can't justify the higher prices for cusco or anyone else either, my ebay strut bars are fine enough for me.

I've heard of Megan Racing, however don't have any first hand experience of them so I couldn't tell you.

Did they have to be adjusted to fit, and were they thick bars, or adjustable and skinny like the ebay one's?

To Dr.

Well, I didn't put them on myself so I donno if they need to be adjusted, but they look like that to me 'coz there are screws (Not sure if it's the correct name for them? ) on each side close to the plates that go on to the struts top. Also, they're about an inch in width, and a tiny bit thicker than the cheap ones with holes on them I saw in some shops around my neighborhood.

By the way, what's the point of those holes on the bars....? Don't tell me they r for cooling....

lol, no dummy, they are speed holes!

No, i'm told they put holes in them so they weigh less, but in my opinion that makes them weaker, or logically it would seem.

Thanks Dr.
I, too, think that will make the bar weaker... Don't wanna go for that kinda bars.

does anyone have experience with the apexi struts?
They seem to be exclusive to certain cars only, and the s13 happens to be one of them.
