What exhaust should I buy for my car?

I am looking at getting a new exhaust for my 90 240SX but don't really want to spend $450 on a Greddy or Tunabe exhaust. I was thinking about getting a Monza and then replacing the Monza muffler with an HKS. Over all this would only cost me around $300. Let me know what you think I should do.

Buy a universal HKS H-Power muffler or Apex'i N1, then take it to a muffler shop and get them to custom make the piping. That should be around $300 and it will be better than getting a Monza.

but if you can afford it i would definatly go cat back from a reputable company cause of the quality of the piping and bends to the coating that protects from rust and the cleaner welds on the whole system

I think I'll probably end up getting an HKS muffler off ebay and get a custom exhaust made. I originally wanted to get a Borla muffler, but then I found out how outragiously priced they are. It was something like $350 for a muffler. Can someone explain to me why these mufflers cost so much?

hks mufflers are pretty expensive as well, get a apex n1 muffler w/ the custom piping. doesn't really matter what muffler u get either just get one that u like off ebay or something.

I got my HKS Hi-Power for $382. I don't think that is very expensive at all. In fact, that's damn cheap for a name-brand cat-back.
