(my interior is blue/black but im changing it all to black)

Ayuaddict May 15, 2005 08:15 AM

could i just PAINT my stock panels black with that interior spray?...cuz im finding parts...but the center console is like $30...i havenf found any dashes locally but im guessing those are fu<king expensive...so...does the painted panels feel like stock or what are the downsides to painting compare to buying new pieces?

Slidin240 May 15, 2005 08:27 AM

you wont get the feel of oem parts and the paint mite chip. ive seen em done in other cars and its good at 1st but then after a while it chips off or starts to fade

Bryan May 15, 2005 08:30 AM

you could paint it, my friend painted his crx interior black because the previous owner painted it red, he used a primer, a few coats of paint and then some clear coat. It came out really good, and that was about two years ago and not a single chip or flake yet.

Slidin240 May 15, 2005 08:33 AM

it could be the paint that was used or how it was done cus my friend bought a red CRX (coincidence?) and some one painted the dash and other parts like vents and stuff and it was all chipping and looked real crappy.

Ayuaddict May 15, 2005 08:38 AM

ohh...thanks for the info...and btw im finding dash trim kits on ebay...lol...the wood ones are pretty pimp...come in CF too....

Slidin240 May 15, 2005 08:40 AM

i saw a full real carbon fiber dash kit once on ebay. Its that stick on stuff but looks really nice if put on rite. lemme kno if your going to get it. i might get it from these guys: http://www.torasport.com/Dashkits/nissan.htm

The red that the previous owner of my friends crx put on was ****ty too. Chipping all over the place, when we painted it all back to black we just took our time, set it all up in his garage and sprayed it all. Came out 10 times better than the red crap.
