facelift help

I'm converting my 240 to an s13 silvia panel by panel (not front clip). I purchased an aftermarket, Uras front bumper from japan and when I was going to mount it I noticed the front bumper support that is connected to the frame is getting in the way. It's the big hunk of metal that goes along the front of the car and connects to mounts around the radiator. I removed it and the bumper fits fine, just a lil loose. I really don't like not having the support for the bumper that it needs! What can be done?!?
Thanks

not sure how they do it here in the states but back in japan you would use the s13 bumper support. most people would just zip tie the bumper cover on without the support. its the out side of the support that hits correct? if it is just hack off the ends.

if it were that easy i would have done it. The entire support sits too low and too far forward. The support is hitting where the foglight vents are. I'll see what i can do with the stock one or i may have to scrap it or buy a japanese support.
Also, when I put the intercooler on will it need the support or will it bolt on to the radiator support? Thanks

Most aftermarket S13 front bumpers either require cutting of the bumper, or removal of the bumper support.

This relates to North amercian 240s only

the pignose and 91+ front bumper reinforcement are diff i belive. Im currently running no front bumper reinforcment, its really just a 5 mph stopper. anything faster will crush the metal. your crumple zone and unibody is the ones that really save your ****.

OK, guys thanks for all the input. I got a new question. I now have two turning signals with no bulbs now. the corner light and the headlight signal in the inside portion of the headlight is without a bulb and I'm all out of stock bulbs. My question is should I splice the wires? How did you guys do it? Well, I guesse I'm gunna have to splice but just need to make sure with ya'll unless there is another way. Thanks
