Flush Headlight's?

Ok, well last night I was scouring the internet for 240 part's and accesiories. And I came upon a thread on a board that was talking about a headlight mod for a 89-94 240 that instead of the headlight's coming up they were flush with the hood but still had light's that were usable. Like they were flush I guess you could say. And after a ton of time searching for that post again I have come up empty handed. :dunno: Now here is the question I propose to you. Have any of you ever seen a mod like this and anyone know where I can get it? Any help would be appreciated! Thank's! :thumb:

S13DET 04-26-2005 06:52 PM

Ah_HA! I found it! It was on this board just as I suspected just under a post that was different from what I was expecting. Im sorry for this useless post now. If any moderater would like to delete this post that would be gravy! lol. Thank's!

240-kid 04-26-2005 08:29 PM

haha weirdo :p

Waynehead05 04-26-2005 09:13 PM

so are you gonna do it?

S13DET 04-27-2005 03:45 AM

Yup!

Yea im planning on doing when I get enough money. Being 17 and making 6 buck's an hour plus paying for all my other stuff it take's a little bit to save up but yea here are the pic's of the conversion im getting.

When I get money and get them and do the install I do a complete walkthrough of the installation.

phreze 04-27-2005 07:47 AM

Wow that actully lookes good, who makes them and what is the cost?

S14ninja 04-27-2005 11:02 AM

Makes your car look really aggressive. I personaly like the look of straight lights compared to flip ups. thats why I chose an S14 (Well thats not the whole reason) I'm just wondering how much mods you have to the lighting to make it work.

Bryan 04-27-2005 12:39 PM

the headlights are here, but the prices are in AU currency so I'm not sure of what the price is in US

toycar 04-27-2005 01:25 PM

$500 us

2slow2forty 04-27-2005 03:58 PM

does that come with the new headlights or just the covers shown in the picture above next to the cars?

S13DET 04-27-2005 06:57 PM

In the first pic it comes with the auctual new fitment and the cover's and also come's with the light's. I sent an email asking what kind of light's came with the conversion. So when I get an email back ill post it. Cant wait to do it! It's either these and bodykit or the Silvia conversion....Sil-Eighty's are very sexy!

2slow2forty 04-27-2005 07:27 PM

yeah plz do keep us posted! yeah sil-eighthys are sexy, but i think pop-ups can be just as good looking.

phreze 04-27-2005 10:52 PM

Anyone know who the mfr of thoose hoods in the picture are, it is very hot! Still torn on wether or not to do a light conversion on the 240 or the s15.

toycar 04-28-2005 04:11 AM

i alrdy emailed them and got a response. comes with housings, lights and covers. shipping was $100 aus. 4-6 week wait period.

FlyingS13 04-28-2005 06:00 AM

That's exactly what I'm looking for my S13 coupe. No one sells them here in the U.S?

S13DET 04-28-2005 07:19 AM

There might be but I've only seen them sold here. So if you do soem searching around you may beable to find them being sold in the US. Toy car what kind of light's did they say they come with? I still haven't gotten an E-mail back yet so im anxious to to know!

toycar 04-28-2005 01:48 PM

the lights that are shown in the pictures are the lights it comes with. the only other place to get them is japan.

Raiten 04-28-2005 02:25 PM

Dammit S13DET...I hate you. You've made my decision of modifying my 240 or converting it to S15 even harder! :anger2:

Damn those look awesome....argh...S15...240....S15...240.

Hmm, while these will be alot cheaper than converting to an S15...the appeal of having an S15 clone is great. On the other hand the aggressive, sexy sleek look of the flush lights is hot. ARGH! I dont' know!

phreze 04-28-2005 03:05 PM

I think I am going to go with these lights. These lights plus a full jdm widebody kit and hood is less then s15 conversion just for the front. Speaking of hoods anyone know who makes the hood on the car in the picture?

Raiten 04-28-2005 03:33 PM

yeah i'd like to know that as well. I'm thinking of going with this mod now. But then again that may change. But if anyone could find the manufacturer of the hood that would be great! :D

S13DET 04-28-2005 07:31 PM

Raiten I personally think you should go with the headlight mod...sure the S15 conversion is beautiful but everyone and their mother is doing and or already has it done....Not many people have this mod that...I think it would be better just my 2cent..lol...Im going to check around to see who makes that hood. So if I find it ill post it

Raiten 04-28-2005 08:09 PM

Yeah after looking at the pic of the S15 conversion and the standard 240/180SX front end....I'm loving the look of the 240. And my whole goal is to have a unique 240. So just as you said, this is a new mod that not many people have. So i'm all for it! :bigok:

Oh and what does everyone think of this body kit style? I kinda like it, but let me see what you guys think. Don't want a kit that turns heads because it's ass ugly

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...rontbumper.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...sideskirts.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...rearbumper.jpg

It's only the front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper, nothing else on the "modeled' car. It looks aggressive, and fast but not ricey.

The only real problem i see is the rear bumper, there seems to be a fairly big gap between the bumper and the molding beneath the lights.

fayjairay 04-28-2005 09:06 PM

does anybody know the name of the body kit with the flush headlights? i've seen many 240's with the same kit, but never knew the name of it. thanks.

S13DET 04-29-2005 07:46 AM

I know a website that that sell's them. I'm at school right now but when I get home ill post the site for ya Fayjairay. I think the site has two version's of that kit I think it's stylish and agressive. The stylish one has softer curves and the agressive one which is shown in the pic i posted has harder, pointy edge's.

Raiten 04-29-2005 10:04 AM

As soon as i read "Aggressive" and "Stylish" i knew what you were talking about. Here's a site that has both kits.

http://www.andysautosport.com/bodyki...x&brand=Origin

S13DET 04-29-2005 12:03 PM

Ha, so I helped out with out even finding a site that has it...pimp! LOL

phreze 04-29-2005 12:35 PM

The person who posted the pictures it is a version:select kit. You can get them from www.tougefactory.com they are the importer for them and they sell them to other sites so they have a large selcetion in stock.

Raiten 04-29-2005 12:46 PM

Phreze, i know who makes the kit. I just wanted to know what people think about it. Is it cool, ugly, ricey?

Thanks for the extra link though

S14ninja 04-29-2005 01:56 PM

I think it looks clean. it accompanys the body well. I personaly like the low look it gives. better then alot of the kits I see out there today. Im thinking of putting a similar kit on my S14 in the future

Raiten 04-29-2005 03:21 PM

Ok i posted this on another forum i go to, it doesn't have anything to do with cars, and one person said that it was "ricey"

Now last time i checked...it was pretty damn hard to make an S15 look riced out. Did I miss the memo stating what's considered rice now??

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...Conversion.jpg

S14ninja 04-29-2005 04:27 PM

I dont think there is a definate definition for "ricey" it always depends on the person

S13DET 04-29-2005 07:33 PM

Some people consider changing the light's in your dashboard is ricey while other think that a huge wing, and some giant bodykit is ricey. I think the kit is clean and flow's with the car. It's also make's it look like it has a widerstance. Maybe...But any whoo....

wikd240 04-30-2005 04:06 AM

Raiten
to answer your question... i like the kit... i would like it even better if the rear was just as wide as the front...
body mod plans for my car are... im going to go 30 mm widebody in the front and 50 mm in the rear... i have been looking at kits for almost a year now and that is one of the nicest i have seen on any 240... some people wont or dont like it but i do... clean and fat... thats the way i want it to look... the only thing i dont like about all of the wide body fenders out there are the vents or slashes in just behind the front wheels... it is an easy job to fill and blend them away and that is what i am planning on doing... nice find and kisk ass kit...

Raiten 04-30-2005 12:25 PM

I was just talking with my brother about that. I don't know if i like them or not, the "vents" seem like they don't belong. It's like a corvette or something. I used my Uber photoshop skillz...ok MS Paint lol. It looks cleaner i think. But someone with better photoshop abilities should do a better job though. Oh and could you also try it in Factory colored red with Advan Racing Version 2 rims?

2slow2forty 04-30-2005 03:13 PM

My personal opinion on bodykits are, first off use f*#king common sense (im mean i see kits on cars that are just so hideous), second I think a front mount is need to show seriousness, the more low key the better.

These are a few of my picks:

phreze 05-03-2005 11:17 PM

Anyone figure out who makes that hood yet?

S13DET 05-04-2005 12:16 PM

HaHa, I don't think anyone has. I've auctually looked for like half an hour and couldnt find it so I gave up. Maybe someone else found it. Let's hope I would like to find out who made it.

ramnailz 05-29-2005 02:30 PM

I saw those lights you guys were talking about earlier and contacted them, they're $570 USD shipped to the U.S. They take 3 weeks to ship here. Has anyone ordered them yet? I'm kind of skeptical to order them, so I want to see if anyone has yet.

ramnailz 06-03-2005 05:14 PM

I have seen better lights, check out the thread i did about 'em if anyone is interested.
