Gutting my Interior

I've began to gut my car because that seems to be the only productive thing to do with no money. I've taken out the driver and passanger airbags, airbag computer, even the little anoying airbag light bulb in the dash. Replaced the heavy stock wheel with a Nardi Classic steering wheel with no horn button. Removed the floor mats, every panel except for the lower door panel, and removed the carpet in the trunk.

I weighed my car at the local racetrack and it came out to 2670lbs. I took out the spare tire, stock shift ****, and various tools I had lying around the glove box in order to get it this low. I left the jack in so that must be another good 5lbs that ended up being included in the weight.

I was glad of the outcome, it brought me down to s13 weight. Now I want to get it even lighter. I had plans of getting rid of the carpeting and getting rid of the sound deadening with dry ice.

I'm not 100% on the process of removing sound deadening so any advice would help alot.

I also plan on getting rid of the sunroof because I never use it anyway. If i decide to go through with this, I'll need a suggestion on what to replace the heavy window with.

By the way, I'm not ditching my sound or A/C yet and i cant afford custom made lighten material windows, or cabon fiber body parts.

deng your interior still looks pretty clean without the stuff in it =P when i took out the back seats and some carpeting in my s13 it look hella dirty, tiny rust spots, and there's some marks from this black sticky stuff haha maybe it was adhesive? =P

anymore pictures? i'm planning on gutting out 'almost' everything, so far the same exact things you've done i'm planning on doing.

now as for something that i can help you out with...
for the more lightening of the body/windows...

http://www.lsauto.com/hpiacrylic.asp

$640 for both door windows
$340 for both rear quarter windows
$420 for the rear windshield
[package price for all of the above: $1300]

...and as for the sunroof, my friend emailed LSauto about that and they told him that s13 sunroof will fit it. and that is $320

what i heard about the sunroof is its not the actual sunroof that adds the weight, its that factory cars with sunroofs have a reinforced roof and that is what adds the weight? anyone know how true that is?

The sunroof is held in place by this peice of metal bolted on which looks like a nice peice of weight to take off. Withou a sun roof, it looks like it wouldn't be there so that may be what they're talking about.

As far as the windows, that doesn't look like a mod i'll be doing in the near future... too expensive, then after that, the weight of the hood will be on my mind. Being the lightest you can be sounds real attractive but I dont want it to distract me from engine, drivetrain, and suspension parts
