Import Intelligence gauge needle kits

I was wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to try one of these kits out.

I was looking to spice up the interior lighting just a little bit. The look I'm going for is basically to match my deck, which is a Kenwood EZ500. The digital/number part of the deck lights up white, while the buttons light up red. The car at hand is a '91 SE coupe w/HUD and digital speedo. Since the digital speedo is white, I was looking to keep that white to match the deck number/lettering, and possibly do the back lights in red.

Basically, I wanna know if anyone has had good luck with these kits and how big of a pain they are to install. Second, I wanted to know your guys opinions. Given my color scheme I'm going for, do you guys think I should go with amber/orange needles, or stick with a solid red scheme?

^^^Not sure whats hard but...try using this site as a reference. Its for a Maxima. The 240sx gauge cluster shouldnt be that much different...go to this thread for the LEDs. Follow the instructions and you should get them in a week. I did. Or you can try ebay...but they may be a little more expensive. Good luck.

taking apart the whole cluster. pulling each needle off and setting the stupid little cirlce with lights in place. re-installing the needles back to factory specs so that your cluster still works.

^^^See...if the cluster is the same as a Maxima just add the LEDs behind the gauges...no need to take the needles off. If you **** up your gas or speedo it wont be fun lol...

I hear ya there. Been there, done that in a different car.

These LED bulbs I'm seeing are sweet. I'm thinking about going this route since I wanted to change the dash lighting anyways. I can always paint the needles later if I really want too (done that before, comes out good if you do it right).

Just curious if anyone knows what bulb goes in the climate control in the S13. If I do the LED bulbs in the gauge cluster, I will wanna do them in the climate control section as well so it lights up just as bright. Anyone know if they are 194's are well?

^^^The bulbs there are most likely not 194 and probably smaller bulbs like my maxima.

If you have a knowledge of saudering and Leds/Resisters, it shouldnt be that hard for you to do what I did which was add LEDs instead of the bulbs...

Thats mine...Just need the gauge cluster...of course you can do red, green, or even white...I chose blue cause the LEDs where the cheapest lol...

Just make sure when you buy the LED 194 bulbs to buy the INVERTED LED bulb with a SINGLE LED(These spread light all around instead of directly like normal LEDs). The ones with multiple LEDs tend to have hot spots

Like that. There are mixed reviews about the superbrightleds.com bulbs...some say they arent bright enough...maybe search for others...have fun

I have actually used import intelligence's gauge faces and neede kits. They worked really well and I would without a doubt recommend their products to anyone. If you are worried about not being able to install, the company will do the install for u, u just have to send them your gauge cluster. They are a good company to work with without a doubt!
