Interior updates. Finally something simple!

I've been doing only performance modification since I owned my car. I'm tired of working on my car. Last 6 months were spent chasing gremlins from my 5 lug and z32 brake conversion. Luckily most of the issues have been resolved so I had some energy to take care of some small things I've been wanting to do for a while.

01. Manual seat conversion. I hated those power seat belts before I even owned the car. So I bought some s14 seat belts for $40 a while back. Finally got around to installing them. Lucky for me I have no desire to keep the interior trim pieces so I just removed all the panels associated with the swap. I'm glad I did too. Getting rid of those horrible belts I must of dropped 20 lbs from the car.
I had to make some brackets but they were pretty straight forward.

02.) Gauge cluster. I bought a JDM gauge cluster off ebay a while back. $32 well spent. I got a proper redline for my sr swap, and I converted it to amber lighting. I recently had the cluster sent out to person who converted the kph gauge to mph. He also calibrated it for my 4.36 rear end gears and my larger tires. Now my 180 kph gauge actually goes to 180 mph. Work great. I didn't take any pictures of the gauge post calibration, but here's an old one when I first converted to the amber lighting. BTW, It ditched the ricer blue clock light back to the OEM color. I dunno. I kinda liked the ricer blue more.

03.)New steering wheel. I've been wanting one for a while. I bought it through weaksauce.org. Collin' hooked me up pretty well. I got a Nardi Deep Corn 330. I'm gald I went with the 330. At first it felt too small but it feels much better than my stock already. Looks like a million bucks plus it has the quick release/lock for the added security. The looks you get walking into a restaurant with a steering wheel in had is priceless. It was also my birthday present to myself. I saved for a little bit.

The hub & quick release.

Mounted up.

Locked up.

Enjoy.

hey bumnahhhhh.

i got a R32 diff with what i believe is a 4.6 ratio.

it has 5 bolt output shafts however.

can i just take the diffs apart and just throw the guts into a S13 pumpkin/put S13 output shafts into the R32 diff, as they are both R220 i believe?

or would i need to get 5 bolt 180sx axles?

i figured you might know.

i'm pretty sure the r32 rear end was 4.36 as well. when you take the cover off. look at the big gear in the center. rotate it until you see a stamp on it's edge. if it's 4.36 it'll say 48:11. Divide 48 by 11 and you get 4.36. If not take whatever is stamped and you can figure out the gear ratio.

as for the output shafts for the axles. try putting your output shaft in the new rear diff. it should work, but i believe they are very minor clearance issues. I would take the output shafts out and measure them to see how close they are to one another.

yeah. the hardest part about the whole thing was actually getting the trim piece that goes around the gauge cluster and all your hazard and flip up light buttons attach to. back on. The steering wheel mounting took less time.

I was actually pro active for once and took some pictures. I'll make a how-to on the steering wheel swap. I'm missing some beginning pictures of how to take the oem wheel off but those are easy to get still.

are the seatbelts a direct bolt on? or do you have to fab up a braket for it?
by the way sweet gauge cluster in the radio area.
