My new whip!

For all of those who don't know, which would probably be everyone, I recently got into a car accident, a hit and run, the other guy ran, and that bastard wrecked my silvia front. Well today I picked up a new silvia front, and dropped my car off at a shop (so they can fix the bumper support/frame). My car will be
done around wednesday, I will try and post some before, during, and after pix!!

Here's an idea. Paint the car while its in the shop. Running around in flat black does a couple of things.

Makes your car ugly. Makes you a ricer.

There's nothing wrong with a primered car, especially if it is black. My car is far from a ricer!

you may be far from ricer, but running around with a flat black paint job makes you look like a SCC knockoff.

atleast you got your front end. i agree nothing wrong with driving a primered car around, but it should only be for a short term, like painted soon....

yeah, nice to see that he got the front end......hell I wish I could afford a silvia front end. Mainly to get rid of the damned pop-ups. Usually running around in a primered car is no big deal, to me it signifies a work in progress. The only problem is ever since SCC did it to their project Silvia, too many little punks have been painting their cars flat black for no other reason than a magazine did it.

Actually there is. Im sure you didnt sand or prep the car prior to primering it. Which isnt a smart thing. Paints and Primers need a semi ruff surface to adhere correctly. Also primer absorbs water so meaning that your car has a higher risk of rusting underneath the primer. Another thing most of the people that do it, dont use a paint gun they rattle can making an uneven coat which in the future can make paint, cure in different colors or shades.

Its not cool, Ive seen guys primer cars with great factory paint. A very stupid thing to do.

Your car looks like crap when you do it.

so if you like the primered look, which i personally think looks mean, aggresive and over all pretty good, mix clear coat with some dulling agent and spray it over the primer, looks like a flat color but has protection over the primered surface.

i believe that since the krylon paint that SCC used, is paint not primer, it wont absorb water, but will discolor and get blotchy over time, like Levi SPL S14 said

I plan on getting my car painted but i gotta come up with some $$$ before i can, and i have a lot of bills, for one step at a time it doesn't look that bad. I get compliments all the time. And i don't appreciate anyone saying indirectly that i am stupid and that my car is ugly, its a work obviously in progress, so hold your mixed feelings to yourself
