Neon

I am looking to install a set of neon glow pedals on my '93 hatch and was wonder where the clostest (or most easily accessible) 12v source is. Any help will be much appreciated!

i'm just a bit confused to why you would want them to begin with... i mean wouldn't they be a bit of a distraction ? plus if you step on it or something, wouldn't it break?

no distraction, just a friendly under-dash glow... and they would not break because the neons are protected... people need to think so badly, it scares me sometimes...

yeah no ****

a friend and i installed blue neons under my dash just to see if we could....it was really easy

i dont know if yours has a switch or not, but we put a switch on my neons (i dont ever use them.....it was just a project to see if we could do it......the switch i bought at walmart) i just had to add in that walmart part 'cause i didn't know where to get a switch and i searched everywhere

if you dont know, i'll tell you how to wire it to your cig lighter

first things first, your gonna wanna disconnect your battery to make sure you dont shock the **** out of yourself

then remove your center console...but first your going to have to find all the stupid little snaps thats holding it together...theres also like 4 or 6 screws

alls you gotta do now is splice your pedals to the cig lighter

behind the cig lighter you'll see some wires covered with rubber and some insalation....cut that back and this will expose 2 wires

i'm not too sure about the colors on your car, but one should be black....and that black one should be the ground.....SHOULD BE....my car the black was the hot wire......

splice the wires....get you some electrical tape and tape that badboy up and put everything back......reconnect your battery and your in biz

i second leiferik and say that the cig lighter is a good place to wire your lights to. You can probably get a switch real cheap at a hardware store or even at like a pepboys or something and wire it in series with the neons (if you need that explained I will).

That's what I did and put the switch inside the ashtray so you can't see it (just drill a small hole in the back of the ashtray so you can get the wires through.) I just flip open the ashtray and turn on and off the lights at will. It's good to have a switch cuz sometimes the lights get annoying and you want to turn them off.

first off. the pedals use an indiglo type light element preventing crushing. second while im not a fan of the (and giant aluminum wings) that doesnt make this dude gay or a retard. just a little electricly challenged with bad taste. but anyway dude if its rigged at all like my grand nat. was the fuse pannel is prolly right down on the left near the fire wall. theres prolly an accesory plug or atleast an un-used plug where u can get 12 volts outa. otherwise do what i did with my boost gauge on my buick. rig it to the dash light dimmer switch. it'll add a little bit of extra flare (as much flare as you can have with glowy feet). but anyway it should allow you to adjust thier brightness as well.
