paint swirl question

sup guys i just spent 2 hours washing my car and then waxing it. After waxing it i thought the swirls and acid rain marks in my car would come out but they did not. I need some help in taking out the swirls in my paint and the acid rain marks. Some ppl told my to use automotive clay or 2000 grit sand paper. anyone have any suggestions i really want to get those stains and swirls out of the paint. I am going to go buy rubbing compound today and try that. Some1 help!

I have them too...under my wax. I guess try clay or something. Scratch remover helps some but doesn't take them out.

the real trick is to NOT use wax unless the paint is absolutely PERFECT. Polish is what gets swirls and scratches out wax is ment to be a protective top coat. clean the car well, then polish it wash it again and then wax when your sure that your happy with the finish. if you wax over imperfections they are suck under the wax and your screwed. i would say clay bar it and start over.

I used to work at a detail center, you have to have a high speed buffer and buff out the swirls with a buffing compound, Meguiars has buffing products, then after that wax it. Meguiars is the best shiet i think to go with.. To remove water stains on ur paint there is a chemical called "MAG 5" its an acidic chemical, all you do is after washing your car, take a wet rag and go over a small area of your vehicle and then take the rag with the MAG 5 and rub it in the area with the wet water. after that take a clean wet rag and wipe off the acid, so you'll need 3 rags, keep them seperate and don't mix them.
step 1. wash
step 2. water spot removal
step 3. buff and wax.
just take ur car to a detail center and have them do it LOL

ok but i jus washed my car again after washing it and i tried a rubbing compound by 3M i thought it had more additives then wax so i thought it would help and it also said it takes out water spots and swirls but it didnt help at all. I think its cuz the wax didnt come out after washing my car so the rubbing compound didnt get to the paint. Some1 tell me how to take off the wax? also should i use the clay bar would that help? i heard its good if ur paint feels ruff and not smooth and mine does feel ruff with all the stains. some1 plz help! i dont have a power buffer. i also do have megiuers wax alrdy.

to get wax off use very diluted dishwashing liquid...it will take wax right off. Just make sure you get it all the way off also.

u don't need a clay bar, thats not going to get rid of water stains! clay bar is used to remove overspray from the paint, i'm not sure who sells the mag5 try looking at meguiars, they might have a chemical to remove water spots!
