Popped hood??

I saw the hoods on a bunch of cars that were popped up a bit towards the windshield. I read somewhere that this allows hot air from the engine bay to be released. I was wondering how to do this mod, anyone know how? (im guessing it has to do with the hindge, maybe bend it or something) Thanx in advance

washers.

just get a vent hood. what do you have that needs to be vented?

if you have a stock car, it will never need to be vented.

I wouldn't bother doing it unless you like the way it looks. There's really nothing else to justify it.

None I've heard of... Only "theoretical" cooling issues with the radiator from changing the air pressure in the engine compartment, but I've never seen anybody say they've experienced problems. I doubt it'll change anything, except people will think your car's hood is busted

im with stupid, literally hahaha

its not gonna do anything close to none. if you want proper cooling as mentioned above get fans blah blah blah and a VENTED HOOD. not one of those gay vis hoods somebody here believes works.

ill keep it simple. i saw your website, you still dont need it vented. vent if you have turbo other than that, you dont ever need to do it

I'm thinking of doing this cuz of my greddy headers. The headers emits extreme heat and even busted my distributor.

One question tho. If it rains, can the water go into the engine bay?

i was thinking about doin this as well. i have a tubular titanium< you want heat from a manifold get a titanium one>

water cant enter the engine bay unless you are hauling some serious *** in reverse....the air flow would make it no go into the engine bay.

if your driving forwards, air would come from the front of the car, up the windshield, over the roof, and downt he back window or hatch

I thought the air comes down your windshield again... How do reverse scoop(opening in hood facing the windsheild) or cut hoods work then?

it doesn't allow air to cool the engine, it allows the hot air to escape from the engine easier. Which in turn, would cool the engine.
