what about something like this and just get the bi-xenon h4s?...http://blinglights.com/shopbling/sto...y=50&curPage=1
no. a rebased hid plug and play kit will not give you the results that you want... basically you wouldnt need a high beam with an hid kit because the beam changes into more of a high beam pattern with lots of glare when kits are installed into halogen housings. do it right with a projector retrofit or dont do it at all
...um no. I dont wanna spend between 200 and 400 dollars to make projector headlights or fogs, and screw it up. Im gonna make halogen projector fogs, and then ill use them while i make a set of HID fogs, with good HID projectors... THEN im going to try to make HID headlights that dont interfere with the popups...
i only liked those because of A: its plug and play. and B: in New Jersey here, we have to have high beams in order to pass our lame inspection. no disrespect to doing it urself.
lol... no offense taken. Yeah we have to have highs too, but theres a lot more shady folks and people who could care less than there probably are there... Actually, i was looking into doing a front end conversion, either s13 or one of the new s14 kouki front end conversons for s13s.. i think that would be sex. Once i make my fogs, im going to try a drop in kit, and if i dont like it, ill sell em on eBay... i know someone out there would love something like that.
drop in kits are a waste of money. esp in jdm s13 lights as you will have the incorrect beam pattern... its cheaper to do a retrofit anyways
in most cases, yes. I dont think im going to get projector headlights, unless someone can help me with the whole, cant flip em down or they'll break, thing...
did you not read my other posts lol? i mentioned that e46 singles would probably fit just fine (they are really small) if not the vw golf projectors are really tiny and would definitely work. imo its worth a try to just grab a set of ebay diamond cut 4x6 and try. try to find a bodyshop or local dealer service for high end cars you might can score some free/inexpensive hid parts :thumb:
good idea!... but i have a better one. found one of these babies on ebay... my supermarket! g35 bi-xenon projectors, small as hell.. take a gander!
http://students.washington.edu/weita...9/DSC00872.JPG These would be ideal. When i scroe some cash im gettin 2 of these badboys... oh and why 4x6 headlights might i ask? |
arent the flip ups 4x6 sealed beams? those g35 projectors might work but once you get into the hid world you will want projectors with a more crisp beam and better intensity. its a good place to start if you can snatch them for under $150 or so. they might be the same as 350z bixenons im not really sure. let us know how it goes and if you need wiring help etc im here
im not gonna get these just yet. How do you know how crisp and intense the beam is on these? Besides g35 and 350z projectors are a PITA to find cuz AFAIK they only came on 2006 and up models...
i also would like another place to get some hid information. im a light nerd. i have a 160$ flashlight. im def interested in this stuff.
lol.
well looks like my light project is getting put on hold for lack of funds. Found a blacktop sr locally for 1200 bucks, no intercooler, but hell, thats a damn good deal. So all my money is going toward that right now. |
since i like to brag this is what the beam looks like from one of my projectors (notice the sharpness and intense colorband at only 12ft distance)
http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/3621/sharprx3300zk.jpg i have seen the beam on the g35 on hidplanet.com/forums and it is not nearly as sharp, colorful, or intense as my setup here is a retro in dual projector s13 lights http://forums.freshalloy.com/showthread.php?t=152463 |
what kind of projectors are those?
