Rims and Springs
 
I want to eliminate the large space in the wheelwell of my 90 240.

It's completely stock, with the exception of KYB AGX shocks. Between the wheel and the fender is about 4".

What is the best way to eliminate that space. Should I go for a larger rim and tire or go with new springs. I have a feeling most will say to do both.

My goal is not to make it too low, just eliminate the space in the wheel well.

seems like u've already got ur answer~ go both (new springs + wheels) if you can afford it. But I'd probably go springs first...

well...in the process of eliminating wheel gap with just wheels...the larger diameter wheels will also bring your car higher off the ground....which is "technically" bad cuz the rims will be heavier (and we all kno that rotating mas is the worst kind of weight) and making your center of gravity higher (not that you can feel it....but just sayin).......the best way has to be both...but if not...springs should help get rid of that nasty wheel gap...but how do u get 4 inches?...what kind of rims u got?...my stock suspension is less than that (in the back)...and i have no tranny or engine...

I have the stock rims on the car.....

I'll probably do both, but yeah, I've got 4" in there.

I can fit a whole fist in the space from where the fender starts to the tire.

standard AGX's are not short stroke dampers, thus going too low for extended periods will lead to premature seal failure. If you stick with the AGXs, don't drop lower than 2" (ie. sportlines are not recommended).

Do you mean, do not drop lower than 2" clearance between wheel and fender if I continue to use AGX or the new springs will need to drop the car more than 2".

If I can't use the sportlines from Eibach, can I use the ProKit? I believe the drop at the front is 1.8" and the rear is 1.6" on the ProKit.
