Wanna paint your rims??
Here's a little easy way to get the nice rims you always wanted, but couldn't always afford. I had a beat up set of cheapo eBay rims that I bought with the car for only $150. I didn't really want them, but I figured, what the hell, if anything should happen to my new rims, these would be a good last minute replacement. So after trying to sell them, without success, I decided to try and make them look better. After helpful tips from friends and the internet, I decided to take this project on and see what kind of results I would come up with. I was really happy with the results.

First I practiced on my stock SE rims with no tires. They were really tore up from the previous owner, so I figured, even if it doesn't come out good, anything would be better than what they look like now. So here is what the stock SE rims looked like before the sanding, priming and painting.

After a very good scrubbing and cleaning using scotch brite pads and sand paper they were ready for primer. Now the primer I used was Duplicolor primer which is about $4.99 at the auto-parts store.

I did about 3 coats of the primer and gave it plenty of time to dry in between coats and paint. Then I used Gold Duplicolor Engine Enamel paint which is about the same price.

I did about 2 coats of the paint, again, allowing plenty of drying time inbetween. The paint sprays on glossy, but if you want an even glossier finish, don't hesitate to use the clear coat which I put about 2 coats on as well.

and the end result are a beautiful set of new rims that look alot better than they once did. Expieriment with whatever colors you want to make your boring old rims looks like new!
DON"T FORGET TO TAPE OFF CENTER CAPS AND VALVE STEMS
Here are the other rims I painted the same color:
