how to remove turbo?
just look at it. you should be able to figure it out. if not, i dont suggest taking on this job as its a good 4-6 hour job even with a skilled tech.
undo the coolant banjo bolt under the manifold on the side of the block
undo the oil banjo bolt just under the coolant one
undo coolant line behind cylinder head
undo oil drain hose
unbolt manifold from head (have fun with the lower middle 2 nuts... theyre a blast)
remove turbo
bend back locking tabs on the nuts holding the turbo to manifold
undo nuts
replace gasket
reassembly is reverse of disassembly
be very careful when you put the banjo bolts back into the block as you are going to bend the lines when you remove the turbo and they wont be spot on when you go to reinstall. depending how how they are bent, they may look as though they are lined up, but when you go to insert the bolt, if wont be straight. the aluminum is soft and strips very easily. use a 3/8" extension, slip in thru the banjo fitting hole and 'tweak' as necessary. thread the bolt in by hand first then tighten. dont forget to replace the crushwashers as theyre prolly junk.

sounds like it will take a while but not 4-6 hours meh well i hope i can do it in less with a lift and airtools. im gona put an ichiba turbo manfold, s15 duall BB t28, trust o2 housing, trust down pipe, taka lines, and megan cat cancelor on my redtop. i was hoping maybe 2-4 hours
dude i have had ample lift and air tool time.... personaly its overrated... unless you are running a company, its not needed.. i have done everything you can do from both the ground and on a lift.
nope lol. proper size jack stands lol...... the last 2-3 years i have had tons of shop time......... lol i paid my dues lol. the first welded diff was done outside, and when it blew lol, i installed the new one at about 25 deg out.
itll take about 4 hours. trust me. taking it out takes nothing. and youre like 'wow, hes stupid for taking 4 hours'
then you put it back on
and take 30+min reconnecting that back cooling line behind the head
then you try and put the banjo bolts back in. ****, the outer thread stripped. go to autoparts store, get a tap, clean the thread. rebend the line so its straight. **** its not straight enough. retap.
hahahahaha
just wait.
