Ive got a red top sr20det that i let run low on oil, the engine starting knocking really bad and making a loud clack noise, ive had this happen before on my VW and it was a bent valve, so i went ahead and pulled the head off the motor, but the valves are untouched. assuming that it was in the bottom end i checked to see if i could rotate the crank by hand and sure enough i can rotate it without a problem. Im just curios to see if anyone has had this problem before or has any input as to what the problem might be. I look at it this way, i planned on rebuilding the motor, just not this soon.


ps. I think i through out a rod bearing.

yea the whole time reading i was thinking rod bearing...then i saw ur ps...might wana check that out
