s14 wiring harness delema

hello guys
im kinda stuck here. i have an 89 hatch with a broken single slammer. i dont feel it is worth it to rebuild the kae, so i decided i would put an sr in it. a buddy of mine had a notch top sr swap. he wanted 1500 for it. we met up and he gave me a story of how he cant find the harness or ecu, but had pictures of the entire swap. i trusted him, did a leak down test, all came back good, so i gave him 900 for the motor and trans. he said he had to go to his parents to find the harness. that was 3 weeks ago, i have not herd from him since, so now my pickle. i need a harness and ecu for a notch top. from what i have been reading, there are 2 different s14 ecus. how do i tell which one i am looking for? also, how different is an s13 harness. they are considerably cheaper, and im not afraid of wiring, but if they are not even close, that theory is out the window. all help is greatly appreciated.

well the problem you have is that the notch top is variable timing so you cant use the S13 ecu for it. I am guessing the difference is going to be between the zenki and kouki models. do a little research and see if there is a difference from those models. I dont want to tell you something and have it be wrong. Also call a few vendors and see what they have to say. You are also going to need a 91-94 cluster so that your RMPs work.

One way to tell from if its a Kouki or a Chuki or Zenki (chuki/Zenki's will look the same)

Is the Valve Cover fasteners, Kouki's use 10mm BOLT/SCREWS and Zenki/Chukis use 10mm Dome Nuts.

if its a Zenki/Chuki I dont see a problem with using a Full Zenki or Chuki harness.
S14 engine use all the same components just wiring is different

Just make sure you use the correct Harness> MAFS> ECU setup.

right now it has been running for over a year and done 13 track days on a wc ecu and harness with a ka24e maf and an afc neo on an otherwise stock tune. it runs fairly well, i need to get a tune, partially to remove the speed limiter but i would also like to change to an n32 maf.
