sr20det valves
 

i have a sr20det 180sx and the valves seems to be broken or something like that......i heard the sound like...clac,clac,clac,clac....(i don't know how explains it in english) and the seller tell me that he will change the head of the engine.....do you think it will be ok or the bloc will have problem tooo.....thanks

if the valves are all broken(bent) then it probably wont run very good. could be a series of problems that make a tick noise..tell him to replace the head and if it fixes it then go ahead and buy it, if not then i wouldnt bother..

it could just be your lifters, trying running half a quart of ATF for 30min see if the noise stops.

good ol ATF. Gotta love it.

its your lifters. if it were broken valves, the motor would not run.
