What performance can i get out of 1 g??

i already have full exhaust, down pipe, new motor mounts, full suspension setup and a sr20det black top...

Boost controller, external wastegate, turbo timer, dry sump setup, koyo radiator, bigger intercooler, bigger turbo, ECU Flash and Dyno tune<-- Most effective, engine rebuild, stroker kit, hi-po intake plenum, top end rebuild, carbon fiber, nitrous oxide . . . I mean, I can think of a ton of things to spend $1,000 on . . .it all depends on what your focus is . . .what IS your focus? Street? Strip? Track?

more like street and track i kno im leaning more towards on getting a t28, but i want i get the most important thing out of the way

USMCDrifter Dec 21, 2008 10:23 PM

what sorta track usage are you looking into?

ayoitbephil Dec 22, 2008 09:08 AM

more like auto-x

USMCDrifter Dec 22, 2008 09:17 AM

You've got everything you need? Why go further, how long have you been racing? If not long, you need to focus on the driver. That's the most important modification you can make! Take that grand and save it, spend money on getting into events. You can dump all the money in the world in a car, if you fail-at-life behind the wheel, you're going to blow hard.

ive been doing it for a couple years now i just want more power to fool around with. i just want alittle power and the car to sound better too.

USMCDrifter Dec 23, 2008 11:41 AM

A couple of years? So you're pretty established then? What class do you run? Which category? Where do you normally place? Either way, you would benefit more from seat time than any modification. Tighten the nut behind the wheel first . . .

OP

i would sink that money into to suspension... not power.. if you have an sr.. you have plenty power.

USMCDrifter Dec 23, 2008 01:16 PM

He claims to already have a fully-built suspension setup . . .

ayoitbephil Dec 23, 2008 02:58 PM

my suspension is all good i just need some pointers on more power. like the basic things i can get to have more fun.

Just admit, you wanna street race . . .that's the ONLY reason for more power on a street setup is so you can drive faster than the person next to you from light to light.

If you just want more power, you're not going to do much better than the advice I've listed in my first post in this ever so meaningful thread.

trust me i dont want to street race unless its at the drag strip. ive done alot of stupid things when i was younger and paid the consequences for those action and i just want to be able to keep up the eclipses, evo ...etc

USMCDrifter Dec 23, 2008 05:57 PM

You have an SR20 blacktop and you can't keep up with an Eclipse? Those are like 17 second cars . . .whatever. . . if you're wondering about drag racing and you've got full suspension already, tires are your best bet, but with anything involving real racing, seat time, seat time, seat time . . .that's going to take the most time off your RT and your ET.

So you have exhaust, mounts and suspension and that is it? What intake setup, fuel setup, etc?
