300ZX Brake Conversion Question

I read that to get the maximum benefit of the Z32 to 240SX brake conversion you should not only get the Z32 master cylinder but get a brake booster from a automatic transmission equipped 240sx. My question is would it matter what year or model that the automatic brake booster came from?:dunno:

I think anyone from a 1989-94 Auto Trans 13 should work.

if you are just doing the front brakes, all standard 240 parts are fine. If you are doing all 4 then a master cylinder is a good idea

The brake booster from an automatic transmission equipped 240SX is the same as a manual transmission equipped 240SX. If you are wanting a larger brake booster search for a brake booster from an ABS equipped 240SX. To support my claim check the FSM on page BR-46 top right table or below:

The brake booster from an automatic transmission and/or ABS equipped 240SX is actually larger than a manual non-ABS equipped 240SX. To support my claim check the FSM on page BR-65 top right table or below

what you need to make the 300zx brakes work better on a 240 is not the Brake booster stock is fine that you need is 2 things

1) Brake Master Cylinder Brace
and
2) better front tires. 235 and up in the front unless you dont care about performance.

you might say yea but the 300zx didnt have 235 stock, no but they are alot heavier then a 240 and have more weight on the front tires making it harder to lock up then a 240 would on 205's. a 240 or any car for that matter needs front tire grip to get the maximum potential out of your brake set up
