Difference between z32 and s14 hubs/spindles and e-brake

After a long Sunday I had to find out the hard way the following:
- z32 axles are thicker than s14 ones in the rear
- the front ones need to be pressed out if you want to use them on your 240
- the e-brake is different, uses a drum type of emergency brake whereas the 240s e-brake cable just utilizes the caliber
- you need to make a little spacer for the e-brake to put under the drum
- the e-brake cables need to be spliced into original ones or you need to make a bracket or extension (so close but not close enough...)
- you shouldn't try to use a hammer to take out the rear axles from the hubs, now I need new axles...

Any ideas on what to use for an extension for the e-brake cables? For now I spliced them into the factory cables but I dont know how long they'll hold. Now I'm dreading the day when I do my differential with the new axles...

Partly right. NA Z32 axles are the same size as S14 and S13. Twin Turbo are larger. Also these cars only have axles in the rear. There not AWD.

Front what? You cant use Z32 front hubs on S chassis. Thats why companies make ones you can use Attain, GTO and Peak Performance.

Its CALIPER with a "P". That is correct. You word things wrong. They are both cable driven.

Okay that makes no sense. The drum is the E Brake. What spacer?

You make the bracket at the end of the drive train tunnel done.

You pull the hubs off first, with a puller.

Just order the Yanack e brake line kit.

I dont know what you were trying to get at.

I adding info you were missing and tried to make it more sensible.

Thank you for the corrections. When I said spacer, I referred to the big bolt that holds the ebrake. If you look at a z32 hub it actually goes around the bolt. I used a piece cut out of a wheel spacer to go around the ebrake bolt inside behind the ebrake.

Anyway, you know where I can get the Yanack ebrake line kit you mentioned? Thanks for all your help.

^ i know what your talking about. Weird thing is that i had 2 sets of Z32 rear e brakes one of them the bolt went throught the hub, the other it didnt.

My R33 rear brakes dont have it either.

As for Yanack, try Jspec, G Dimensions or Phase2.
