does it really make a difference what brand strut bar i get?

i have enough money to purchase a back and front. now i could get cusco type os for 330 or pilot for under 100. thats saving 200+ bucks. does it really matter the brand? are some brands better than others?

All Strut bars are made the same, ur just really payin for the name brand.

gladhatter 08-06-2003 04:02 AM

I think this may have been discussed a time or two before....but strut bars is strut bars. Don't waste your money on big name brands until you have already done all the other stuff you want to do.

StanBo 08-06-2003 06:22 AM

Get some ebay ones.

Have you gotten sways yet?

Monkey Boy 08-06-2003 07:15 PM

didn't get sways but want to get the strut bars first. damn man i just talked to my friend he is tellin me go cuscos cuz the name but if it does the same job no difference to me.

StanBo 08-07-2003 08:04 PM

I don't want to go against your friends or anything but I would get sways first.

Where are you looking to get a benefit? Track, street, highway, name dropping?

I don't want to say that you are just getting them for the name but there are guys that build show cars and this is instrumental in them scoring points.

So please take no offense.

gladhatter 08-15-2003 05:26 AM

Rudy, what difference does it make what it looks like after you hit a wall? Hell, lots of bars would be crushed after hitting a wall. I STILL say...."bars is bars".

uofa240 08-15-2003 11:03 AM

I am pretty sure thats what rude is saying, "a bar is a bar"

i got a cheap bar from a local shop intown and it works great. But I am having trouble getting a cheapo rear. S14:(

Teh Luckinator 09-07-2003 02:56 PM

I've heard of people making their own strut bars. How much would this cost?

240duffman 09-07-2003 09:46 PM

I just ordered one from "procar parts" on eBay for $20 shipped and Ill agree that "bars is bars"...
