Falken Azenis Sport

Has anyone tried these tires?

Specifically I'm looking for info from someone who has used these tires on a 240 and has also used Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's, yokohama A509's or A520's.

I'm considering getting a set to throw on my stock wheels as track day/autocross tires, but I'm worried about the price. The last time I was seduced by price I ended up with the Kumho 712's that I have hated for the entire time I owned them.

I bought the 712's after my A509's wore out and the difference was night and day. The 712's should be ashamed to call themselves tires. The A509's, sadly, have been discontinued. The A520's were only available in sizes over 16", and they also seem to have been discontinued (got a set on the Civic and they kick ***!).

Anyway, if you've tried the Falkens and also one of the other tires I've referenced, I'd love to hear your feedback. No disrespect to others, but I got suckered into buying the 712's after a buynch of people told me they were great... probably swapped their Futuras for them, no wonder they seemed great. SO I'm extra sceptical this time through.

Thanks,

-Justin

I can only add that more than 50% of the cars (street cars) I saw at VIR were running Azenis Sport. This was in the rain on Sat and the dry on Sun.

I am getting a set for my 15/14 combo.

The other thing that kind of puts me off about them is that they are only available in 205/50/15. For a track tire I'd like to run something a little wider. But the price is right on the Azenis!

I have seen $35 for 14 inch. I like that alot.

I will be happy with the 205/50/15.

I can make one comment about them. They are heavy as all ****.

Stan,

Did you run at VIR? I would really like to get out to a track day or two this year... especially at Limerock. Are you already planning to run any this season? Who with?

Back to Azenis - who has the best prices on them. I think I saw the 15's for $69 shipped at www.tires.com .
