front shock giving out...

Hello everyone..

So my front right shock is or allready gave out. Drive over a bump and when the wheel drops back down it sounds funny like a rusted squish. I'm assuming it's the shock.. I dont think it's the spring. When I'm driving I have no problem.. just going over bumps..

So my dilemna is should I replace just the one shock or all 4. I'm thinking of OEM shocks, but performance ones would be nice... but would there really be a point of getting aftermarket shocks since I DON'T plan on making my car a drifter. I also want to lower my car eventually, and I'm wondering if lowering springs would be fine with stock 13 year old shocks. Maybe coils would be better.

Anyways.. I have no clue where this is going but any opinions would be great. I know some of you here have lowered your cars, but did you replace the shocks too?

Side note.. do you know what's great.. Finding money when you're vaccuuming your car.. what a great surprise. And I wonder if doing donuts on wet pavement is bad for the Hicas system. Oh well.....

get performance ones ever for daily driver use. Then im doing the same go with some good shocks tokico's or Koni w/e you perfer get youself some Tein springs you will feel the differenece comfort and much better ride. I have springs but the shocks are comming in still. IF HOWever your springs are good just get the replacement shocks.

Moved to the "Suspension" section

Shocks are not only if you want to be a "drifter". If you want a little better handling in any situation then get aftermarket shocks. Running lowering springs on stock shocks may end up blowing the shocks sooner than they would with stock springs

If anything, at least replace the front pair... they're probably the same age so if one goes you can bet that the other corner is on its way.
